Iconic books are texts revered as objects of power rather than just as words of instruction, information, or insight. In religious and secular rituals around the globe, people carry, show, wave, touch and kiss books and other texts, as well as read them. This blog chronicles such events and activities. The Accessorized Bible, by David Dault

Dault, The Accessorized Bible

David Dault has published The Accessorized Bible (Yale University Press, 2026). The book charts Dault's intellectual journey with bibles that has included long involvement with Scriptural Reasoning and with SCRIPT, which he now serves as President. The book pleas with readers to approach the bible from a stance of moral seriousness by misreading bibles for the sake of a life-giving, catastrophic love. Highly recommended!
